Here’s the story:

We have a unique opportunity to start a very small affordable living community in Alameda’s Bay Farm Island. The number of shares or units could be 2-5, depending if it is individuals or a family. It is currently a legal duplex owned jointly by two owners, one wants to sell.  

A very sunny, garden filled ¼ acre, it is the last house on a small street with only 3 houses on one side, and a park across the street.  Isolated by a golf course and the park which wraps around the side of the house, it feels remote yet it’s close to everything. Renting begins February 1st with the intent of converting to a ‘Tenant-in-Common’ (TIC) ownership arrangement, preferably very soon.  Front 3 BR 2 B home can be owned separately, or provide for separate renters with a community spirit. 

Transportation:  It’s a 5 min walk to Harbor Bay Landing Shopping Center with several bus lines within a few blocks.  It is 1 mile from SF-Alameda ferry. We have several ’share-bikes’, a bike set up for shopping, and a bike trailer. I envision a community of friends maximizing the community strength to minimize fossil fuel based personal vehicle use, striving to grow much of our own food, fully functioning with a lighter footprint.  

We have 6 hens, fish ponds w/solar water fall,  7 excellent raised beds/gardens, honey bee colonies, lots of prolific young fruit trees, lavender lined walkways, hot tub, far infra-red sauna, massage table. There are still many goals for expansion of eco friendly home elements like solar hot water, gray water irrigation, wind and solar-voltaic energy harvesting.  There is TV-Internet-phone, common space and a nice community kitchen and living area. 

There is also the potential for conversion of a detached 1200 sq ft garage/shop.  I am determined to find a way to remain part of this unique property and looking for others who want and are able to be join this partnership.  The potential is tremendous; all we need is highly communicative, like-minded people and the willingness to contribute resources and creativity.   I am open and interested in any ideas that you might have.

We are in the early stages of creating a concept like this, so it lends to constant revision of ideas and as of yet, nothing is really ‘set’.  What we need right now, is people who want to begin a discussion, have a need for funds housing, are creative and have moderate financial resources.  There is a time factor here so please act now if it sounds appealing.

Are you a leader?

Guess what…it’s a trick question.  Want to know why?  Because at any given moment of your life you determine whether you are a leader or whether you aren’t, with your actions.  It’s not something you can say “yea sure, I’m a leader.”

So what does it mean to be a leader?  First, it means you have firmly made the resolution within yourself that you will rise to the challenges of your life, and meet them with the leadership mentality.  The mentality that there is no obstacle you cannot overcome, no challenge which you can not endure, and no problem that will cause you to give up your goals.

The leadership mentality is simple.  It’s having the confidence and belief that if you truly focus your mind on something you will have success…and you KNOW that you can help other people do the exact same thing.   Leadership in network marketing is absolutely crucial.  We are in an industry that revolves around people becoming leaders, building organizations, and creating more leaders. If you aren’t a leader yourself…you will have a very difficult time to get thousands of people to follow you in your business.

When you ARE a leader, thousands of people will see that and follow you at will. Leaders are the ones who make all the big money in network marketing and you don’t have to be just one kind of leader. There are all sorts of leaders, with many different styles.  Some outspoken, some not so loud and in the limelight. But the defining characteristic of a leader comes down to HOW MUCH they help EMPOWER the people who are in their organization.  How much do they HELP their people believe in themselves, build their confidence, and execute the tasks that create us money in this industry efficiently.

That is the purpose of a leader…knowledge and execution. So how do you become a leader you say?  Simple…   YOU BELIEVE YOU ARE ONE.   Now here are some things that can help you believe you are a leader.

1. When you are in the trenches everyday working hard FOR YOURSELF, you will feel powerful, resourceful, and determined. 

2. When you continuously empower yourself, educate yourself, and inform yourself then you will know you have value to offer others. Always be reading the newest books, taking important courses, or staying connected with people in the field who know what is working RIGHT NOW.   Plug yourself in to empowerment and watch yourself grow.

3. Give back. Do things selflessly for other people. Show yourself how kind and caring you really are. Open up your heart and take on a servitude attitude, like you are truly on this planet to help…and that’s what you really want.  Let the joy of helping another person to reach their goals, overcome a sickness, or get through a hard time be one of the most important things in your life…and you will know you are a leader.

I am absolutely making you a promise right now.  If you do these things, if you work on these things every day, you will be rewarded with everything you ever really wanted in life.  I promise. The deciding factor to whether or not you build a huge network marketing organization, whether you feel satisfied with what you have done while you were on this planet, or whether you help lots of people will be YOUR DEDICATION to living this kind of life.

How earnest are you? Some will hear this and make no changes.  Some will hear this and it will cause yet another little shift inside them. The accumulation of those “little shifts” eventually turns into a BIG SHIFT.  One day, you will look back and say “wow, I have come so far, and I am so happy with myself.”  But that won’t happen unless you start taking action right now.  Unless you start implementing changes in your life to become the leader you know you can be.  

If you don’t do that…don’t expect anything very new to come into your life.   You get what you give. Start giving incredible things to this world and you will get incredible things back.

Insight is an activity of soul that manifests in the personality, so an environment has to be created in which the insight can arise.

The following four steps are the basic procedures for gaining insight and being creative:

1. Every new process or birthing in life, which is what creativity really is, requires a focused purpose. There must be a kind of intensity of purpose that you want to pursue or fulfill. You therefore must have some passion about the issue or area of life for which you are seeking insight. You must really care about the issue, and be genuinely interested in it. Your attention must be absorbed by it so that you can focus on it and not be distracted by lesser interests. 

2. If any particular skills are required to understand, appreciate or express the insight, then those skills must be developed. If there are any materials required, then those materials must be assembled. If there is knowledge required, then that knowledge must be gained. True knowledge is based on experience.  On a personality level experience precedes understanding.

3. Once we have acquired sufficient knowledge, skills and materials, and still feel very dedicated to the pursuit, the amassed energy of it will begin to take over. We must allow it to do so, and we take a subservient role toward it. There is a gestation period, a time when we allow the passion and wisdom to guide and give impetus.

Thinking does not create insight. So at this stage we don’t work at thinking to create, but become receptive long enough so that insight can unfold as revelation in the brain. Insight usually occurs when thought is suspended, or at least it pushes thought out of the way. An insight contains a lot of information. It is a type of wholeness, but appears suddenly. Thought is needed only afterwards to unravel it or apply it.

4. The final stage is manifestation of the insight into some practical or concrete application. The insight will likely be ‘larger’ than our ability to manifest it with a high degree of accuracy or perfection. The more knowledge and skill we have the better our expression of it.

Insight must lead to change and creative expression. Otherwise we betray its purpose and block ourselves from further insights.

Why do so many people settle for so little? You do not have to place yourself among them. The world is an abundant place. Abundant with opportunity, abundant with good fortune, abundant with ideas, and abundant with love.

Reach into that abundance and take what is rightfully yours.  It is your inheritance, gifted to you simply because you are a living, loving human being.  Let yourself have it. Do not fail to reach for it or fear that it will not come to you.  How can it come to you if you do not reach for it?  Do not be content with so little.  Reach,  stretch,  for something big.

I have been researching some very successful INTERNET MARKETING programs, actually “AUTHENTIC MARKETING” is a better term.  Yes, we all did what they tell us to do:  make your lists, talk to friends and family, warm market, cold market, cold calls, faxes, cards, booths, brochures, flyers, personal visits to professionals, those you think could appreciate your opportunity, you name it, we have done it.  So then what?  Without a steady source of interested people, no matter how great it all is, you will not achieve that which you desire…success in network marketing.

I believe it is a new era, with new technology that seeks to utilize new systems that are already functioning successfully and SO many of us are not aware how to tap in to that.

The key to success is simple - you have to have people who see value in what you have to offer.  You have to “find your TARGET MARKET” and I believe that they are all searching the internet.  Millions of people with millions of reasons why…

Now all you have to do is HELP them to FIND YOU.  I think I have found the system; extremely user friendly and you don’t even have to talk to anyone.  Incredible tools and everything is all set-up for you, just plug in your information.  I am SO excited.  So stay tuned all you introverts that believe you are not a “sales person”.  You sell yourself everyday, just being in the world, but I feel you and I want to give you a new way to enjoy what you believe in and share it with others. Oh, and it also includes a BLOG so I can finally get a better sight.  Seems if you want it, you just have to do it yourself, or in my case, learn how.  I am almost there.  Never had a mentor, so I’ll just be my own.

Ya gotta have THICK SKIN.  This is not about you.  This is a concept that works.  Some will, some won’t, so what, someone is waiting.  Do not take it personally if they do not see the value.  NO means NOT NOW in most cases.  You do not know what is going on with them, respect that and ask if you can check in with them in a few months.  You will be even more successful by then and they will see the value.  If you don’t have thick skin, wear a leather jacket!

Believe me, no means not now.  I met a guy at the Millionaire Mind.  His friend asked him for 8 months to take a look at the www.24hourtour.net/protect.  He said no every time, deleted e-mails and voice mails.  Then one day he goes to his friend’s office, they share lunch and he looks at the TOUR.  He sees the VALUE, loves the concept, signs up immediately and got 10 people in his first 30 days=$4100  Who knew?

LISTEN & ASK QUESTIONS, find out what they need, what are their concerns, and focus on those things that will prove valuable to them.  When they see the VALUE then you have a new member and we duplicate the process again & again.  Do the math, 2 x 2 and double that answer each time for 12 months, it’s over 8000 people in a year. 

Let’s be honest, those who keep working it and enroll their 2 referrals and then a whole bunch more, make a whole bunch more.  Does that happen for you in your present job.  If you work a lot harder and more hours, do you get a lot more money?

If you LISTEN, people will tell you what you need to know, they will give you information.  An opportunity is never lost, it just moves to the next person !  If they cannot see the VALUE, they are saying no to the opportunity, not to YOU !

If you have good friends and family who respect you (It’s hard to be a prophet in your own town) then try what Lil does.  “Give me your credit card, you have to see this, it is an amazing concept and will save you a bundle when you shop on line.”  I am yet to meet that person, but it’s a good ice breaker, and a way to say, seriously, have you seen this company,  www.ShopToEarth.net/protect

OVERVIEWS can be done ONLINE anytime, best to be with the person, either in front of the computer or on the phone together.  No computer, then print out a few pages from the website, the slide show and some documentation pages and do your own from a 3 ring notebook.  I have one and I use it a lot, very impressive, nice colors.

Poor people know poor people, sad but true.  Look for business people, successful people who are willing to try something new, to step outside their comfort zone.  You are one, or you would not be here.  Find people that you respect and ask them to give you their opinion.  You can say, “Would you mind taking a look at somehting?  I know you have been very successful and you are a wise person.  I have something I have invested in and I respect your opinion.”  People like to help, they will do that for you and then realize that you actually have a gift for them!

Like most people, I can appreciate wanting to enjoy life and not worry too much about tomorrow.  Yet in today’s world, being practical can make a big difference in the quality of your life in that not so distant future.  How many people do you know who have a retirement plan and have systems in place so that they can enjoy their life at 60 or 75 years old, not having to sample pizza at the local supermarket, just to cover meager living expenses.  Don’t laugh, it’s very sad to witness and all too prevalent.  At that point, believe me, it is no party.  Even someone 20 years old needs to think very seriously about the reality of making a decent living.

When you introduce the concept of  www.ShopToEarn.net/suzyk to new people and they tell you that they are not interested, often before they even know what it is…you may want to ask them a few questions.  Show them that these are things that matter, issues that you have considered and chosen to take action.

Find out if they have a retirement account that is regularly funded and at what age they plan to stop working.  Is that adjusted for inflation?  Do they have a budget?  How much do they spend each month compared to what they have coming in?  Are they satisfied and optimistic about their future?

You do not need specifics as to how much they have saved or what they make.  The point is to find out if they have considered these kinds of very important issues.  If they smirk and act like that is a ridiculous question, then see what else you can learn about that person.  Do they have anyone who will be able to take care of them, if they are unable to pay bills, get health insurance, have a secure home?  If the only thing that they can tell you, is how much debt they have, then clearly this is someone who would benefit from an opportunity to improve their situation.

But do they want to?  See if you can find out why they are so resistant.  Is what they are doing now, working for them?  Are they satisfied with their quality of life?  What are their goals, do they have any?  How do they imagine their life in 10 years?  Getting married and having children is a nice vision, but did you know that by the time a child is 18 years old it will cost over 1 million $$ to educate, house and feed and provide health care for just one child.  Not to mention the importance of being emotionally fit to be a role model for that innocent life that you brought into the world.  Yikes.  Have you tried to buy a house lately, get a car loan, how about dental care?  How is your credit score?

All of these seemingly simple necessities involve having a steady income that is not only enough to live on, but provides enough $$ to SAVE for the future.  Don’t hold me to the details, but I know that saving $100 a month at age 25, when you are 50 you will have $1M.  If you wait til you are 35, you will have $200,ooo.  Big difference and won’t get you very far in 2035.  Where are you in that matrix?  Does everyone you know have that?  When you are young, it’s easy to believe you can always get another job somewhere, ..but how long can you do that?  Do you have a skill that somebody needs and will pay good money for? 

We do this to help people, to question what it is they have done to create a life of fulfillment in the years to come.  Money isn’t everything, it is just what you need to have a home, decent food, healthcare and some pleasure on a daily basis.  Love is most important, in particular self love; that is what it takes to be a responsible thriving citizen in your community.

I watched CNN’s Black in America tonight.  Having lived in Malawi and South Africa, I know the conditions in which many of these incredible people live and somehow manage to survive in a world that we could not endure for a week.  Chris Rock’s wife Malik, has committed to giving back, to creating programs that give young people an opportunity to step outside their environment, to figure out who they are, gain self esteem and make a difference.

What do people care about, where is their passion?  Ask them.  If you can’t take care of yourself, some one has to.  Do they expect the state to take care of them?  That means taxes for social services, community programs and all those things that they keep taking away while everyone is up in arms about the government and taxes.  Where is the money to come from?

We are creating our own reality.  We are finding a way to fill a need, to utilize systems that are already in place.  It’s not rocket science, it is just more creative.  Find a need and fill it.  Bottom line, it is a process of education.  We are successful when we help people to shift their thinking and to realize that in fact, this is something that is possible, that works, and it is not that hard.  The benefits can be life enhancing, maybe even life changing.  Go to any of these overviews and trainings and you will meet people whose lives have changed 180 degrees.  They are every day people who decided they wanted more, and they got it.  Are you one of those people?  Let’s find more and make it happen.
